• To foster awareness of integrated sediment management among relevant organizations in WACA countries
• To share status and best practices on sediment management from WACA countries and Japan
• To identify interests and key priorities of relevant organizations in West Africa to manage sediment in river basins and coastal areas
• To promote partnerships and establish a network (focal points) among organizations in WACA countries and Japan
